The Psychophysics Toolbox (PTB) is a free set of Matlab functions for neuroscience research, also used for individual and interactive experiments. It makes it easy to synthesize and show accurately controlled visual and auditory stimuli and interact with the observer (more info here: https://peterscarfe.com/ptbtutorials.html).
