The Columbia University Human Research Protection Office (HRPO) organized a IRB Town Hall to discuss the ramp-up of human subjects research.
Experimenters should be aware that:
- No study is allowed on Morningside at the moment, and there is no details available for the timing or ways this will be possible.
- It is not necessary to submit a modification if you are transitioning recruitment procedures to remote and there is no other change in the experimental protocol. You will be asked to report any change at the next renewal or modification.
- As a general rule, IRB guidelines indicate that whatever can be done remotely, should be done remotely.
